What you get to do: Create and deliver comprehensive, integrated marketing strategies to increase awareness and drive attendance, revenue, and brand strength to meet annual EBITDA targets for SeaWorld and Sesame Place San Diego. Lead all aspects of marketing including paid media/advertising, PR, promotions, partnerships, and related budgets. Develop and lead a team of high-impact, nimble Marketing professionals who are hyper-focused on delivering against business objectives.

Key Objectives:
- Formulate, develop and oversee implementation of comprehensive marketing plans for both SeaWorld and Sesame Place San Diego, leading a team of marketers to deliver against business objectives
- Develop long-term marketing strategies based on new news, seasonal events and market conditions, always with business objectives in mind
- Set goals and objectives, develop budgets, and set timelines to lead team to meet volume, revenue and profitability targets via above and below-the-line marketing activities
- Work closely with internal teams and external agencies to ensure consistent brand delivery across all marketing activity, and lead brand messaging and content development that tell park stories in relevant and compelling ways for various audiences
- Lead paid media strategy, including media buying, agency management, budget, and content development that successfully communicates our core messages
- Measure campaign success and adjust as needed to increase efficiency
- Ensure clear messaging hierarchy to balance communication objectives, with a focus on driving maximum impact for the business
- Ensure that both SeaWorld and the new Sesame Place California maintain their relationships with media in key markets, and expand in new markets where appropriate
- Oversee all aspects of the parks’ social media presence, including strategy development, platform prioritization, and execution across all key platforms. Ensure paid social advertising and organic posts exceed engagement benchmarks, oversee development of a robust and engaging content calendar, and utilize social listening to monitor consumer sentiment
- Oversee creative content for park websites and special microsites, mobile apps and other digital platforms, as well as development of new marketing technology
- Develop and maintain effective strategic partnerships and relationships with partners, creative resources, photo/video production companies, community groups, industry organizations, external resources, agencies and colleagues from across SWE parks and corporate office
- Measure and advise on impact of events, offers and consumer promotions, to inform future decisions
- Monitor competitor programs and practices, industry trends, target audience and guest behaviors, and ensure a strong position in the market through innovative plans, campaigns and offerings
- Work with the Vice President of Marketing to set media plans and spending priorities, and manage plan optimizations and adjustments

What it Takes to Succeed:
- Ideal candidate will have extensive media planning and leadership experience, and be highly analytical/commercially focused
- 7+ years of demonstrated experience with at least 2 years at management level, leading a team across relevant marketing fields such as advertising, media, public relations, promotions, partnerships and digital
- Experience creating and managing multi-dimensional consumer marketing campaigns
- Experience directing paid media strategy such as defining audience, market strategies and budget. Includes working with media agencies to analyze performance and optimize plans
- Success in leading a high-performing, professional team
- Proven ability to network and influence across the leisure, tourism and business sectors
- A passion and drive for marketing with the ability to empower and engage others to meet or exceed commercial targets
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Commercially astute with strong budget management and forecasting abilities.
- Ability to develop programs to accomplish key revenue objectives.
- Excellent judgment, the ability to self-initiate and develop, implement, and complete short, medium, and long-term plans.
- Strong analytical stills, with ability to distill data, generate insight and effectively communicate to various types of audiences
- Powerful presentation skills
- Excellent written, verbal and visual communications skills and the ability to convey messages clearly and persuasively
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, develop campaigns and clearly communicate message and audience strategies
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with varying timelines
- Commitment to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team, as well as experience working with agencies and various internal departments
- Solid understanding of guest dynamics and key business drivers
- Website content management and user experience preferred
- Prior experience working in a theme park, tourism or hospitality environment preferred
- Must be available to work varying hours based on business needs, which includes occasional late nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays
- Possession of a valid California state driver’s license

Education: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications and/or advertising.
