What you get to do:
  • Setup and run different shows, events, and work in a multidiscipline environment.
  • Operate and make minor programming changes to lighting consoles and a variety of lighting equipment (follow spots, automated lighting, fog machines, etc.)
  • Operate and run different audio consoles for different shows
  • Run and operate different aspects of theme park entertainment operations (backstage, parades, and one-off events)


What it Takes to succeed:
  • Perform all opening, closing and daily inspection duties required for assigned show venue
  • Develop knowledge and expertise of main discipline within the department (Staging, Lighting, Video, Audio or Maintenance)
  • Directly assist the Senior Techs in completing venue projects and preventative maintenance work while providing regular feedback on progress
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair theatrical equipment/programming
  • Assist leadership team with show critiques and recommend methods to maintain excellent show ratings
  • Stay active on current technology within your specialty and seek out opportunities to share knowledge with other ambassadors
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must have weekend and evening availability for events.


What else is important:
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Be at least 18 years old (21 for Pyrotechnical work)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a theme park/theatrical environment with specific training, functional operation and repair in at least one of the following areas: Lighting, Staging, Video, Audio or Equipment Repair (moving lights, pumps, motors, fixtures, pneumatics) , and Rigging
  • Maintain a safe work environment, follow company safety guidelines
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be comfortable operating computers and computerized control systems used in theatrical performances
  • Responsible for assigned projects, and be able to communicate updates and needs in an effective manner
  • Ability to identify industry terminology for a theatrical performance
  • Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office equal to business needs
  • Ability to climb a ladder and work at heights between 6 and 65 feet.
  • Ability to stand, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, reach, twist and turn with complete flexibility.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull 50 pounds.
  • Be comfortable working in theater and outdoor environments (dark/nighttime conditions, in/around water, in varying weather conditions and special effects).
  • Be comfortable working around animals.
  • Be comfortable with exposure to noise and vibrations.
  • Ability to train and properly use protective gear.
  • Ability to obtain a company driving permit for at least one of the following: forklift, high reach, manned personnel lift, barge, john boat.
  • Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed
  • Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, and cold/heat temperature extremes
  • Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals
  • Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities
