Primary purpose and function of position:


The Supervisor of Theatrical Services / Show Scenic is someone who is capable of Supervising and planning the execution of all Scenic related Show Technology including show scenic Installations / strike, and general and preventive maintenance. This position requires “hands on” as well as a supervisory skillset. Supervises the Hiring / Interviewing, development / training, and evaluation of the show technical team. Collaborates and communicates with other departments and show related disciplines to maintain project timelines, safety targets, and installation and strike objectives are obtained.

  • Supervise the execution of Scenic install / Strike of show venues.
  • Responsible for daily scenic-related duties specific to the show technology area of expertise
  • Supervises a team of seasonal team members, and scheduling of the department's stage techs.
  • Collaborates with Entertainment Production/Operations, Lighting, SFX, Rigging, Fireworks, and Theming teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Coordinates and oversees all outside Scenic Show Technology contractors, including Fireworks.
  • Supervises Show Scenic Technology facilities and equipment maintenance.
  • Works with the Theatrical Services leader to ensure Scenic-related Show Technology expense and labor targets are achieved.
  • Supervises, develops, and oversees Show Technology project timelines to ensure park and department goals, safety targets, and objectives are obtained.
  • Supervises the, hiring, development, performance, and evaluation of the Show Technical team.
  • Coach and develop Show Technical team and administer developmental discussions for their direct reports.
  • Collaborates with department executive leadership in the creation, execution, and supervision of technical processes to achieve park and department safety targets.
  • Develops, implements, and supervises Show Scenic Technology department training programs.
  • Member of Park Leadership Team “Manager on Duty Program”
  • Participates in other duties as assigned that support park, departmental goals, and objectives.

  • Proven Supervisory skills, strong communication skills, positive attitude, team player, good negotiation abilities, collaboration skills, problem solving skills, hand tools / power tool skills.
  • Aerial and forklift abilities, scenic installation, strike, and transport abilities.
  • Understand the different disciplines needed in a Theatre to provide a successful install and strike.
  • Hands on experience with any of the current BGW shows will be highly considered.
  • Must be able to obtain BGW Driving Clearance, work from typical Theatre heights (balcony’s, staircases, cat walks, etc).
  • Work varied schedules (days or nights – depending on needed show support / maintenance times).


Experience Required:


  • Associates or BA in Technical Theatre, Theatre Arts, Technical Design, or equivalent professional experience such as College classes related to the Theatre technical field, & any related Certifications are preferred.
  • 2 years professional supervisory experience preferred
  • 1 year experience supervising execution of a budget required
  • 2 years professional technical entertainment experience preferred
  • 2 years professional theatrical technical work experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Set installations and strike, use of hand tools / power tools.
  • Experience with: Heavy equipment including Forklifts, Scissor, Boom Lifts, Flatbed Trucks.
  • Heights to over 100’ and Lift and move 75 lbs.
  • Outdoor work in temperature extremes
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • OSHA, NEC, NFPA and IBC familiarity
