What you get to do:
This position is responsible for performing assurance and consulting services and audits of information systems and IT work processes in a dynamic and rapidly evolving IT environment. This role will be a strategic partner with the business by evaluating and improving risk management, control, and governance processes.You will:
Analyze the operation of SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment processes and the IT environment to document an understanding of risks and controls in IT systems and programs
Evaluate risks and internal controls and work with the Corporate Vice President of Internal Audit to identify the procedures required to test the effectiveness of IT processes and controls; assist the Internal Audit team with IT audit expertise on financial and operational audits as needed
Compile and assess information though inquiries, tests, analyses, and observations to develop conclusions about risks and the operating effectiveness of work processes and controls
Recommend improvements to IT processes to strengthen controls and better manage risk
Work with Finance to review restricted access, segregation of duties controls, and risk mitigation of role conflict resolution for key applications impacting the Company's controls over financial reporting
Execute Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) scoping and testing annually, including quantitative and qualitative considerations such as history and trend of control deficiencies, changes in people, process, technologies, and similar considerations
Perform evaluations (and completeness thereof) of service auditor reports (SOC I, II) where necessary, including adequacy of mitigating controls required as a result of service provider control failures and required SEA internal controls not addressed at the service provider
Participate in continuous improvements of financial and operational business risk function, including contributing to policy development
Provide guidance and input regarding all corporate financial/compliance systems implementations to ensure the appropriate internal controls over financial reporting from an IT perspective are in place
Support process improvement projects from an IT perspective as the Company enhances business systems functionality
Adapt to the ever-changing compliance and risk landscape including Cyber Security threats
Prepare working papers to document the information obtained, analyses made, and support for audit conclusions
Act as a liaison between the Company and the external auditor
Champion IT process improvements; including development of data analytic capabilities
What it takes to succeed:
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, IT, Computer Science or related field
Masters degree is a plus
3 + years of related IT auditing experience
CPA, CIA, or CISA preferred
What else is important:
Capable of working independently in a primarily remote/virtual role in the near term; it is still to be determined what the effect will be on remote/virtual working as COVID restrictions are modified
Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
Team player, ability to build strong working relationships across all functions
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to interact confidently with executives to identify, establish, and maintain a well-controlled ITGC and process control environment
