Filtration Mechanic

At SeaWorld, we have got a not-so-secret secret to having lots of fun – just add water! This is especially true at our thrilling and chilling water parks. That’s why we need your expertise to make sure our water park attractions are operating at full-fun capacity!

What you get to do:
As a Filtration Mechanic, you’ll operate, maintain, and repair all water filtration systems and equipment for our waterpark attractions. This includes attraction inspections, troubleshooting equipment, monitoring and managing water chemistry makeup, and documenting all activities and occurrences. You will:

  • Perform filter, pump, valve, and piping maintenance and repairs
  • Identify and differentiate between normal operation and fault conditions
  • Notify appropriate qualified personnel for action/corrective action
  • Perform water chemistry testing and take appropriate actions as necessary
  • Maintain record of activities performed during shift
  • Perform and assist with general maintenance of park facilities
  • Diligently comply with all department and corporate safety guidelines and procedures
  • Carry out other assignments as prescribed by leadership
  • Practice safe work habits, including the use of personal protective equipment
  • Act with professionalism as an Ambassador and representative of SeaWorld

What it takes to succeed:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous experience as a Filtration Mechanic
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a SeaWorld driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator certification
  • Knowledge of water analysis and the ability to make adjustments to maintain water balance
  • Understanding of the operation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of various types of pumps and related equipment
  • Ability to assess scope of work for a job, develop list of materials, parts, and equipment, etc.
  • Experience in the use and care of all basic hand tools and specialty tools
  • Ability to interpret piping system layouts, make up and glue all types of PVC pipe
  • Able to frequently lift, push, and pull a minimum of 80 lbs.
  • Scheduling flexibility
  • Ability to complete all legal, company and department training requirements
