As an Education Supervisor, you’ll make a significant contribution to our overall guest experience by helping to educate park guests, school groups, camp participants, and private groups about animal conservation. In all you do, you’ll enthusiastically represent SeaWorld by displaying a positive attitude, high level of energy, and commitment to quality.


What you get to do:
Ensures excellent customer service by responding to customer requirements, expectations, and needs.
· Interfaces with other SeaWorld Departments.
· Keeps Education Leaders informed of staff performance, schedules, day-to-day operations, program development, and status of programs.
· Provides developmental expertise in all education programs, including program concepts and program logistics.
· Oversees the organization, evaluation, and implementation of a program within the department.
· Provides communication between Education Department and other departments at SeaWorld as well as the community.
· Adheres to all SeaWorld and Education Departmental policies.
· Participates in the hiring and/or training of entry-level department staff for various department programs.
· Participates in staff performance appraisals and evaluations.
· Coaches and issues staff disciplinary documentation.
· May present hourly staff enrichments on a variety of topics. Adheres to ACA guidelines, other SeaWorld accreditation guidelines, and SeaWorld Standards.
· Occasionally assists other locations and areas in the park as needed.
· Other duties as assigned.


What it takes to succeed:
· At least 18 years of age.
· Valid California driver's license; visiting students and military must have valid driver's license from state of residency and be able to provide a copy of the DMV report.
· Able to positively interact with guests and co-workers of all ages, different ethnic/cultural backgrounds and/or language, and individuals with special needs.
· Strong written/verbal communication skills.
· Strong leadership skills and able to demonstrate good judgement.
· Able to work well in a team structure.
· Able to use mechanical devices such as microphone (hand held or head set), voice projector, computer; vehicle, sound systems (portable and non-portable) with speakers, video projector, laser light pointer, television, telephone, equipment lift, slide screen, and inflatable teaching tools.
· Have been trained and demonstrated excellent capabilities in a majority of SeaWorld Education Department programs
· Have basic computer skills
· Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
· Able to meet work group's availability requirement
· Able to work indoors in an office setting and in outdoor weather conditions (sun, wet and/or humid conditions).
· Able to climb, crawl, kneel, lift, push, pull, walk, stand, sit, reach, and grasp.
· Able to regularly lift or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs
· Have 6 months of Assistant Supervisor experience in the Education Department.
  • Experience in Education Department programs at SeaWorld San Diego highly preferred
