Entertainment Technician (Events)

What you get to do:
• Setup special effects equipment, concert truss and lighting, and other elements to support our Consumer Event and Special Event products
• Interpret Theatrical lighting plots for temporary shows and events
•Operate and make minor programming changes to lighting consoles and a variety of lighting equipment (followspots, automated lighting, fog machines, etc.) for events and shows
Hang and focus theatrical lighting for temporary shows and installations
Perform preventative maintenance and installation on park rigging systems as instructed

What it takes to succeed:
• Previous pyrotechnic experience preferred
• Familiarity with stage decking systems preferred
• Familiarity with basic entertainment rigging practices preferred
• Experience with industrial vehicles or watercraft: high reach, forklift, scissor lift, barge, jon boat
• Basic understanding of the following disciplines: electrical theory, basic carpentry, and handling/setup of pyrotechnic materials preferred
• Ability to read and interpret lighting plots, schematics, and blueprints preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook equal to business needs preferred
• Possession of a valid state driver’s license preferred

What else is important:
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Be at least 18 years old (21 years old for Pyrotechnic work)
• Minimum 1 year experience working in an event/ theme park environment with specific setup and troubleshooting training in at least one of the following areas: Lighting, Special Effects, Rigging/Stage Setups, A/V Setups, or Pyrotechnics
• Be able to work professionally, responsibly and safely in a team environment
• Be able to identify industry terminology for a theatrical performance
• Have good oral and written communication skills
• Be able to climb a ladder and work at heights between 6 and 65 feet
• Be able to stand, bend or kneel for long periods of time
• Be able to bend, reach, twist and turn with complete flexibility
• Be able to lift, push and pull 50 pounds
• Be comfortable working in theater and outdoor environments (dark/nighttime conditions, in/around water, in varying weather conditions)
• Be comfortable working around animals
• Be comfortable with exposure to noise and vibrations
• Be able to train on and properly use protective gear
• Be comfortable working around fumes/dust/odor
• Be available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours; i.e. be able to work opening and closing shifts, weekends, holidays and some overnight installation shifts
