Pest Control Specialist What it takes to succeed - Must be at least 18 years old
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Be able to obtain a non-commercial license through the SPCS within first 90 days of employment. Prior professional experience preferred
- Be able to maintain a valid pest control license to apply applications
- Have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a SEA driver’s license
- Have excellent verbal and written skills in the English Language
- Have basic math skills
- Be able to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 75 pounds
- Be comfortable working with insects/reptiles/rodents
- Be able to complete tasks assigned within time constraints implied by park guidelines
- Be able to work independently and have flexibility to work successfully in a team environment when needed
- Provide excellent service to guests and ambassadors
- Be able to stand, walk, and work for prolonged periods of time in extreme weather conditions.
- Be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Consistently practices safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting and reporting of unsafe situations
- Be willing to comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards
- Be able to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements to include but not limited to passing required tests and certifications within established timelines
What you get to do:- Maintains documentation and inventory of chemicals utilized
- Utilizes both restricted-use and non-restricted use pesticides daily
- Performs weed treatments and ornamental control
- Performs rodent control (i.e. restaurant inspections, back of park, perimeter/fence line)
- Performs insect treatments as needed
- Monitors and traps nuisance vertebrate pests
- Perform building inspections and exclusion work when needed
- Maintains organization of assigned area including but not limited to cleanliness and proper chemical storage
- Consistently maintains pesticide application equipment
- Assists Horticulture department as needed
- Responds to pest control calls with exceptional guest service
- Coordinates treatments with various departments
- Performs other duties as assigned
