Day Camp Counselor (Educator I)

Basic Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Prospective candidates should be available late May through mid August 2012
- At least 1 year of college preferred
- Valid Driver's License with good driving record and proof of auto insurance required
- Able to meet SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment driving guidelines
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment for an extended period of time
- Ability to work flexible schedule to include early shifts, evenings, weekends, and overnights, for entire length of summer camp schedule
- Experience working with children preferred
- First Aid/CPR/AED and Lifeguard certification preferred
- Strong leadership qualities are a must with good oral and written communication skills
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall safety/well being of campers pre-K - 8th in the park, overnight or during off-site field trips
- Teach and implement assigned camp curriculum in an effective and timely manner
- Anticipate and willingly participate in designated camp duties: activity materials and equipment set-up and breakdown, classroom set-up and clean-up, team-building exercises, etc
- Provide guidance to campers keeping them on task and behaving appropriately
- Knowledge of camp rules/operations, getting around the park or any field trip sites
- Become familiar with each camp's roster to prepare in advance for upcoming campers' needs
- Evaluate camper performance
- Serve as a positive role model for children and other park guests by adhering to company standards on wardrobe, conduct, safety, cleanliness, and timeliness at all times
Complete other camp duties and assist camp team as needed
